Our Story: Making Recovery Possible

Welcome to Making Recovery Possible, a recovery house located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. We're dedicated to helping men overcome addiction and build a sustainable, healthy life. Discover our journey, our values, and our commitment to making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

From Survival to Self-Belief

The most inspiring part of the Making Recovery Possible story is the shift from survival to self-belief. Recovery isn’t just about stopping a behavior; it’s about realizing "I’m still worthy, and my future isn’t defined by my worst moments.” Hope is rebuilt through connection, compassion, and practical support, turning recovery from an abstract idea into something tangible and achievable.

Our Main Goal: Lasting Change

Making Recovery Possible wants to help the men in our program get sober and build a stable, healthy life they can keep. This means learning how to stay in recovery long-term, take responsibility, rebuild relationships, and move toward independence and a positive future. Our core goal is real, lasting change—not just short-term sobriety.

Guiding Principles

Making Recovery Possible is grounded in a recovery-oriented philosophy that views recovery as building a meaningful, self-directed life. Our guiding principles shape residents’ day-to-day experiences, fostering hope, person-centered care, empowerment, respect, peer support, holistic wellness, trauma-informed care, and a focus on meaningful life roles.

"Making Recovery Possible gave me the tools and support I needed to rebuild my life. I'm now sober, employed, and have reconnected with my family. I'm forever grateful."
